Timbuk2 Upminster opened on 5th July 2004 and was two years in the planning.  It was very difficult to find an appropriate building as we wanted a wide open space which would allow our customers to keep an eye on their children from wherever they may be sitting. This was very important to us as we too have small children and so many play centres that we visited had a layout where you would constantly be looking for your kids wondering whether they were ok, this was achieved at Upminster and so many of our customers make positive comments about this.

Having found the appropriate building we then had so many obstacles thrown in front of us, it was almost as if what we were trying to do was rocket science, it was in fact a very simple concept although at times felt impossible to achieve, however with persistence our dream became reality.

In September 2006 we then opened our Southend play centre, this was not as difficult as it was an existing play centre Adventure Time in Aviation Way which required extensive modernisation.
